Laurie Elmquist holds an MA in Creative Writing and English Literature from the University of Windsor. Her short stories, memoir and poetry have been published in Grain and Prairie Fire and such anthologies as Country Roads (Nimbus, 2010), My Wedding Dress (Random House, 2007) and Wrestling with the Angel (Red Deer Press, 2000). She lives in Victoria, British Columbia where she teaches creative writing at Camosun College. Her writing is inspired by her experience of growing up on the Bruce Peninsula, a place of great natural beauty and many stories. She spent her summers as a teen working at a vacation lodge in Ontario, the setting of her novel, Pike Bay Lodge.
