The company that brought you post it notes, 3M Cloud Library, of St. Paul Minnesota, is now planning to bring e-books to a library near you. They are challenging Overdrive which has a long history of supplying libraries. One difference: 3M plans to offer not just the ebook, but also an e-reader for library patrons.

Matt Tempelis, 3M’s Business Manager, Library Systems, says they will report how many library patrons have reserved a title and on their website will provide a link to allow purchase for those who don’t want to wait. Read more about it here.
